How to Present Yourself Without BORING People

“Have you ever heard a speaker start by droning on and on about this?”
YES! And speakers seem to follow this formula that I think is meant to establish a connection and some credibility.
You may think that listing all of your accolades up front will make your message more interesting and credible. But what ends up happening is the opposite:
You dilute your most impressive accomplishment by burying it with everything else
You eat up your audience’s attention span and lose them before you actually get to your point.
It’s the other way around!
Make your topic interesting, and then confirm people’s opinion of it with your credentials.
There are ways of working these in without BORING people.
